What is Renxil for?

Renxil is an offline-first private coordination app that brings maps, chat, locations, tasks, groups, and a local library into one workspace.

Can I use it without an account?

Yes. Core local features do not require login. An account supports device registration and future optional cloud sync; it should not be a prerequisite for offline use.

Offline maps and local data

Does the map work without internet access?

Installed regional map packs, markers, coordinates, attachments, and local search should remain available offline. Live online layers still depend on connectivity.

What can the local library hold?

Notes, task lists, images, PDFs, reference files, and group-imported material can stay on the device and remain available beside relevant conversations or map context.

Privacy and encryption

Are chat and media end-to-end encrypted?

The design encrypts messages and media in the app. Exchange, hosted media storage, and intermediate transports handle ciphertext and should not receive content plaintext.

How is data on the phone protected?

A local vault can protect the database and related data, with an optional passphrase, biometric unlock, and recovery words. Device security still matters when app lock is not enabled.

Network and radio transports

Which connections can Renxil use?

Fast paths include 5G, 4G/LTE, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and LAN. Nearby paths include Wi-Fi/LAN and Bluetooth. Compatible gateways can later bridge Wi-Fi HaLow, LoRa, Meshtastic, MeshCore, and Reticulum/RNode.

Does a radio become another Renxil user?

No. A phone or computer running Renxil carries user identity. Radios, modems, and gateways are managed transport providers; they do not replace app identity or end-to-end encryption.
